We better get used to people like Carson becoming our political “leaders,” since realistically, there is very little we can do right now, because even collectively, we are so divided. I’m afraid that Trump and the republican congress will run roughshod over our civil rights, before we can even start to organize a credible level of opposition.
Although assigning blame is an often an exercise in futility, we need to accept that the anointment of Clinton by the DNC and the powerful democrat elites, using questionable and even clearly illegal tactics to keep Sanders at bay, gave us a badly damaged, unlikable candidate, who managed to lose one the most winnable elections of the last 50 years.
This was collective failure. Somehow, as a party, we managed to cheat a decent, viable Sanders of the right to try to heal and move forward this nation. So, now we are faced with the most odious prospects, and there is almost nothing we can do to stop this train.
Instead of engaging in the blame game for more than a few cathartic moments, we need to really reflect on our role in this calamity, and then start working to make it better. I, for one, am done with the democratic party. I will work as hard as I can for a viable third party alternative, since the democratic party is not home to liberals, progressives, the young, and the forward thinkers anymore.
